The academic paper “A test of the feasibility of a common risk accounting metric for enterprise risks” was recently published in the Journal of Risk Management for Financial Institutions by Peter Hughes (Chartered Accountant and Visiting Fellow, Durham University Business School) and Julian Williams (Chair in Accounting and Finance, Durham University Business School)
This is the first comprehensive academic study of the Risk Accounting method’s applicability on financial data, that proved its effectiveness in identifying and quantifying risk exposures accumulations within bank transactions on the US banking market. The study used a 10 year transaction history spanning 10 years, between 2000 and 2010, comprising basically 2 financial crises.
